Please SCROLL DOWN to find more details on each item.

Local practice groups and workshops are mostly lead by students of NVC, with varying levels of experience.  Unless specifically identified, none of the facilitators are Certified CNVC trainers.  The groups are self-forming, and the only requirement for hosting a practice group or workshop is a desire to learn, grow and contribute to others in this way.  Your experience will vary widely between groups, so if your needs are not met in one group, you are invited to make requests to get them met, or find another group.

5.  UO Campus NVC Practice Group
Weekly, late September – December 2008
************************************************************************

The Campus NVC Practice Group will resume meeting in late September, 2008.  For more information, please call Megan at (541) 343-2734, or email her at mintyminions@yahoo.com.

This weekly practice group is open to anyone interested in nonviolent communication. We recommend that you have read Marshall Rosenberg's book "Nonviolent Communication" or have attended an introductory training, but no experience is required. We invite you to attend any or all of our meetings.

We adapt the content of each session to reflect what is most alive for us at the time, and based on the skill levels of those present. This group offers many different ways to experience NVC in action, including empathy or role-plays based on personal experiences, as well as fine-tuning our skills through the practice of structured exercises.  We will also share new techniques for self-empathy, including 'stick figure self empathy' and 'jackal maps'.

**********************************************************************

6. NVC Community Gathering

**********************************************************************

Come one, come all! You are invited to attend all or part of a heart-filled
gathering of NVC kindred spirits. We also hope you will spread the word to
anyone you think might be interested in learning more about NVC and how it
can be of benefit to them.

This is an opportunity for those in the Eugene-Springfield area who are
interested in learning and sharing NVC to meet each other and to let others
know what they would like to offer and/or receive-for example practice
groups, child care, specific kinds of training, etc. Gary Baran (CNVC
certified trainer and former executive director of CNVC), newly re-located
to Eugene, will help to facilitate this gathering, and several board members
of the Oregon Network for Compassionate Communication will be
present. (For more information on the Network, please see www.orncc.net .)

This is also an opportunity to learn about the Sept 11-14, 2008 Nonviolence
as a Way of Life Conference, featuring Marshall Rosenberg, and how you can
play a part in the conference. We warmly invite you to register for the
conference and we are definitely in need of help, if you'd like to offer
some time and energy. (For more information on the conference, please see
www.nonviolentliving.org .)

A handout with information about local practice groups and trainings is
being prepared in advance for distribution at the gathering. If you have
information you would like included in the handout, please email that to Suz
Aird at philsuzi@msn.com by May 7th.

The organizers will provide coffee, tea and other drinks. Everyone is
invited to bring light refreshments to share. Please join us!

DATE: Monday, May 12
TIME: 7-9 pm
LOCATION: St Mary's Episcopal Church, Corner 13th & Pearl, Eugene

8. John Abbe available for groups/couples/individuals

 ****************************************************************************

I'm most interested to work with groups - and available for couples or individuals - who
would like facilitation, mediation, and/or to learn Nonviolent Communication in depth. To
me this includes:

* NVC beyond the four steps
* getting to compassion with what's behind one's own and others' words, actions and reactions
* developing the courage and skill to express vulnerably yet powerfully, even in challenging situations
* moving consciously and fluidly between empathy and expression
* the spiritual dimension of NVC (if strategies are for meeting needs, what are needs for?)

I've been offering workshops, and informally sharing NVC since 2002, in the United
States, Europe and Sri Lanka. In addition to countless shorter workshops, i've been to
nine longer intensives (several in a leadership role), and have spent considerable time
and energy with many processes other than NVC. To learn more about me, see http://ourpla.net/

Gifts/costs: I offer my presence and skills as a gift, because i don't want money to be a
barrier and to stay connected to why i do this - to contribute toward a world that works
for all. I'm able to do this because others have gifted me generously in the past,
**SO**, i will occasionally invite financial (or other!) gifts from you, so that i can
continue to offer myself in this way. I want as much of your money (and only as much of
your money :-) as you really enjoy giving.

E-mail: johnca@ourpla.net
Phone: 541-484-1156 (Walnut St. Co-op phone, don't be confused by the message)
